Our guide, Rolands, was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and shared interesting information about the different ecosystems we visited. We also had enjoyable conversations about Latvia and life in general.The scenery in the park was beautiful, especially the bog area, which had a unique, almost otherworldly atmosphere. We were able to see all three types of wetlands as well as the Baltic Sea shoreline.The picnic lunch that Rolands prepared was delicious and included a nice selection of local food and drinks.Overall, I highly recommend the “Best of Kemeri National Park in One Day” tour to anyone interested in nature and learning more about Latvia. - 19/10/2025

Amazing nature, passionate tourguide! We had an amazing day together with Rolands. He picked us up right on schedule, and in the car his enthusiasm for the tour was immediately apparent! He told us all about the day, about what we could expect. The tour exceeded all our expectations, it was truly beautiful.Rolands was very informative, told us all about the area, the history, the nature. Not only did we enjoy the hiking and breathing in the fresh air, we also learned some very interesting things! Rolands was very friendly and talkative and we could ask all the questions we want, even about the Latvian language and traditions. He was also very helpful, when my wife had trouble with some paths, he helped her. Even when she stubbed her toe, it didn't take any joy out of the day.We had so much fun and laughed a lot. Amazing Latvian Nature Experience Our guide, Rolands is a super person full of enthusiasm, extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. The tour was the Great Kemeri Bog and Forest Hiking Adventure. Unmissable Experience! We had such a wonderful time kayaking down the Gauja River, the kayaking for us took ~4 hours, we got lucky and it was just the 2 of us. Our guide, Ronalds, made the experience extra special—he was so knowledgeable about the ecosystem and river, and he shared fascinating details about the cliffs, water levels, and wildlife along the way. He also took us to see parts of the cliffs you’d never notice unless you were on the river, which made the whole experience feel unique.The scenery was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was so peaceful. Ronalds made sure we set the pace, which kept the trip stress-free and fun. To top it all off, he brought along local food for us to try—such a thoughtful touch! Pick-up and drop-off from our hotel was included, which made everything really easy.I’m not sure I can put into words exactly how much I would recommend doing this trip—it was just one of those experiences that you never forget. A special morning! Beautiful experience in the middle of nature! The ecosystem that characterizes this swamp is extraordinary! We chose to see the sunrise. Rolands, our guide, picked us up at 4 a.m. We arrived that the forest was shrouded in fog, a surreal landscape! We walked for about 2 km on the wooden walkway, to get to the tower from which we waited for the sunrise. Rolands is very prepared and made the day special with his sympathy. The route is a loop and you travel about 4 km, suitable for everyone. Afterwards we went to visit the resort of Jurmala and saw the long beach washed by the Baltic Sea. At 8:30 we were back in Riga. I absolutely recommend this experience, there were two of us and it was like hiking with an old friend! - 14/08/2025

Day trip from Riga to Kuldiga My wife and I booked the “Exploring Medieval Gems of Kuldīga, Sabile and Kandava” full day tour. The plan was to visit Kuldīga, Sabile, and Kandava as a day trip from Riga. The weather did not cooperate and we had rain all day. But in spite of the rain, we had great time and got a little wet as we walked around Kuldiga. Our guide, Rolands, kept us entertained the entire time with local history and information. We stopped in Sabile and had a very good lunch. We decided not to stop in Kandava (we were sufficiently wet, lol) but we were able to see some of town as we drove through. Rolands is an excellent guide. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him and to have him share his insights of the area. I highly recommend Roland’s and this day trip from Riga. - 04/08/2025 

Beautiful towns and nature experience This was an excellent tour. The tour guide Roland was very informative and made the day memorable for us. He was in touch with us before the tour with information about what to expect throughout the day. He took pictures of us during our tours of the towns. We had a nice lunch in a café that Roland recommended and it was delicious. During the drive he made restroom/coffee stops for us. We were able to personalize our trip and chose a walk in the Cuzu Mire Nature Reserve. It was nice to get out into the nature of Latvia. Great Adventure Although the condition on the river was not perfect, water level was high and it was windy, I enjoyed the trip very much. The trip startet on a smaller river wich was fun and my guide Rolands took care to get me around the tree chunks. Unfortunately due to the high water level there were not many places for a rest. Nevertheless we enjoyed a good traditioal meal. The Organisation was perfekt, even I was the only participant. Perhaps summer or autumn would be a better time. Wonderful day at Kemeri Great Bog & Jurmala We only had a short day in Riga from our cruise. Rolands helped us make the best of it with a fun hike through the incredible Kemeri Great Bog. We got a bonus side trip in a swamp area which was very different from the big. The visit to Jurmala surprised us with an amazing beach. We managed to squeeze in a brief visit to old town Riga before we had to leave. Rolands is an excellent representative of Latvia. He was kind, patient and professional. Excellent! We really enjoyed this excursion. Our tour guide Rolands was very friendly and informative. We were picked up from our hotel at 9am and returned at 2pm. In total we were 4 people, us plus another couple. The guided walk on the boardwalk around Kermeri Bog was spectacular! We were also lucky enough to see some wildlife including a Stork, Crane and Lizard! After we finished the 4km walk Rolands offered us some traditional Latvian sweets and tea. We were pleased we opted to do the Jurmala extension where Rolands drove us through the town pointing out things to see before we made a short stop at a viewpoint overlooking Jurmala and then on the beautiful sandy beach to see the Gulf of Riga. Rolands gave us the option to stay on in Jurmala and make our own way back if we wanted, but we were happy to travel back with him as we had other things planned. Throughout the tour Rolands gave us all the relative information about what we needed to see and know and also gave some general information about Latvia. He was happy to take photos of us during the trip and shared with us on WhatsApp afterwards. There were basic toilet facilities at the National Park and beach. But bring your own bottle of water and wear comfy outdoor walking clothes (walking boots not required, trainers are fine). We would thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see more of Latvia beyond Riga. - 16/05/2025

Kemeri Great Bog and Jurmala Visit Latvia was such a surprise to us! Beautiful country with amazing national forests. In particular, the Kemeri Great Bog is an experience not to be missed! Pick up direct from hotel with only around 45 minute drive to the wetlands area which was a real delight of tranquility and a unique ecosystem. Rolands has considerable techinal knowledge of the wetlands and its preservation to enhance the trip experience. A fabulous day out Wow this was an amazing trip. Our guide Rolands and his assistant Dita were great fun and very informative. The walk through the bog was a challenge as it was very icy on the planks but we managed to stay upright! We enjoyed a very nice Latvian lunch of snacks which was delicious sat by the lake. Our best day in Latvia We were in Latvia for 10 days, and this was our favourite day. A stunning private tour of three very distinct environments in Kemeri National Park. Arem-stunning moorland, beautiful beach, top tour guide Highly recommended tour through the breathtaking moorland of Kemeri National Park. We were lucky enough to experience the moor and the beach as a fairytale snow landscape. Roland from Idea-Aventures picked us up directly from the hotel and made the 5h tour a great experience. We felt completely comfortable and could learn a lot about this natural wonder and Latvia in general through his inspiring stories. Booking in advance worked out quite easily, and the price-performance is top!
